Stockwell Engineers, Inc. contracted with Sink Combs Dethlefs architects on a design for the Denny Sanford Premier Center, an 114,350sf multi-purpose events center. This multi-purpose facility was constructed and connected to the SW end of the existing Sioux Falls Convention Center.
Stockwell assisted in the geometrical layout of the proposed parking lots surrounding the new Events Center to provide an efficient layout that facilitated ideal traffic flow and maximize parking numbers. Stockwell Engineers also provided design services for site grading, utility layout and design, pavements design, landscaping and erosion control design. Utility design included water main looping for domestic and fire protection services, the extension of an existing sanitary sewer system, and storm sewer to facilitate site drainage.
Stockwell provided hardscape and landscape design to enhance the center’s outdoor spaces. Design for the hardscape areas focused on creating a hierarchy of spaces leading up to the building entrances. The landscape centers on a prairie-style theme and plants that are conducive to South Dakota’s native habitat.
